WHAT WE STAND FOR
AIM is “Australian
Independence Movement”
Our Launch Date: March 17,2017
We want an “Australian Independence Referendum” (“AIR”) to be held on 1-2-2020 to:
1. Become a republic with an Australian head of state.
2. Select an “Australian” flag that represents all Australians.
3. Change the date of Australia Day to February 1 and rename it Independence Day.
4. Remove racism from the Australian constitution.
5. Recognise indigenous Australians in the constitution as the first Australians.
Yes, that’s a lot. But it must done and this is the time to do it. More
Because our national symbols are not as strong as our character
This comes down to what it means to be Australian
“A foreigner has the power to overturn the results of our “democratic” elections, Australia Day has been permanently rebranded as “invasion day”, our flag does not unify us and our constitution allows the government to discriminate based on race and was written as if indigenous Australians never existed. There’s no way that I’m the only Australian that thinks this is totally unacceptable” – Adam Radly, Founder of AIM. More
Because our national symbols are not as strong as our character
This comes down to what it means to be Australian
“A foreigner has the power to overturn our democratically elected leaders, our flag only represents the second wave of Australians and ignores the rest, Australia Day has been permanently rebranded as “invasion day” and our constitution allows the government to discriminate based on race and was written as if indigenous Australians never existed. There’s no way that I am the only Australian that thinks this totally unacceptable” – Adam Radly, Founder of AIM. More
Australia’s future:
Crowdsourced by
Australians for Australians
The sequence of events leading up the “Australian Independence Referendum” includes a period where all Australians are invited to participate in the process by suggesting new ideas for a new date for Australia Day, new flags, how to elect a head of state, how to recognize indigenous Australians in the constitution, etc. Australians can then comment on them, propose improvements or even suggest alternatives.
It’s critical to ensure that all Australians have the opportunity to participate at every level. More
